One of the great things about living in the rural part of town is the wildlife. This morning, I had a special visitor.
I don’t know what sort of bird he was, but he was beautiful. After he bumped into the sliding glass door (which does happen occasionally), he sat on the porch for a few minutes.
At first, I was worried that he was hurt, but he did flit away after a little while. Hopefully, he won’t be bumping into anymore glass windows or doors or have too bad of a headache from hitting ours.

It looks like a juvenile woodpecker of some sort, though I can’t tell you what variety. :)

Upon some further research, it looks like he might be a yellow belly sapsucker. At least, the pictures look similar… I think… : )

No visitors here (no yard), but today must have been a day for visitors:

Wow! What a beautiful bird! I agree with Rebekah that it looks like a young woodpecker. :-)

After some research, I agree. A yellow belly sapsucker, maybe?
And thanks! I’ll be sure to check it out! : )
