There are several things that I’ve always wanted to improve at with writing. One of them is making things funny. In real life, funny things are everywhere. Usually, I notice, I giggle, and I move on. Capturing the same amusement in words just seems to elude me.
However, I happened across this TED-Ed the other day that discusses just this topic.
I should really probably listen to it five or six more times to pull it all apart, but maybe there is hope for capturing the collection of crazy things that happen constantly. (See what I did there?)
Will it fit the novel I’m working on now? Probably not. But short stories based on the hilarious things I see but never know how to write about? I’m thinking so…
